About this product

What it is, and what it is for

ROCKSOLAR 30 A PWM Solar Charge Controller

A 30 A PWM controller for a 12 V or 24 V battery with two USB ports on the front, for a camp, cabin or shed setup where you want to charge a phone straight from the controller. It takes 12 V-nominal panels up to about 400 W at 12 V.

PWM is the simple, low-cost way to regulate charge: the controller connects the panel to the battery directly and pulses the connection. It cannot use any panel voltage above the battery voltage, so keep to 12 V-nominal panels; for a larger array or higher-voltage panels an MPPT controller harvests 20 to 30 percent more.

Connect the battery first, then the panel, then any load. Fuse the battery side, and have a licensed electrician make the connections on a permanent installation.

Common questions

Before you order.

If yours isn't here, ask an engineer. It costs nothing and it's the step most people skip.

What if I'm not sure this is the right product?

Ask before you order. Send us what you need to run, or your pool or well figures, and an engineer will confirm the choice — it costs nothing. Or use the finder below, which sizes from what you actually run and shows its reasoning.
