For an RV, boat or cabin on a 12 V or 24 V system, start with the deep-cycle LiFePO4 batteries. For a home hybrid or off-grid inverter on a 48 V bank, go to the residential ESS batteries: Growatt APX high-voltage modules, Growatt ALP and GSL 48 V units. Chargers, interconnects, series wiring kits and disconnects are under battery accessories.

All are lithium iron phosphate: no venting, deep discharge without damage, and thousands of cycles. Match the battery's continuous current to the inverter it feeds; each listing states it.

Estimate the energy you need: watts Γ— hours of use for each appliance, added up for the day. Usable capacity in Wh is roughly battery volts Γ— amp-hours. Plan extra capacity for cloudy days and avoid sizing to exactly 100% depth of discharge.

Can I mix a new battery with an older one?

It is not recommended. Batteries in parallel or series should be the same model, capacity and age.

Can lithium batteries charge below freezing?

Standard LiFePO4 cells should not be charged below 0 Β°C (32 Β°F). Use a self-heating model or keep the battery in a heated space for cold climates.

Will a LiFePO4 battery work with my existing charger?

Only if the charger or controller has a lithium (LiFePO4) charging profile. Check the charge voltages in the battery datasheet.
